Sustainable living

The owners have been working hard to restore the buildings and land in an environmentally sensitive way, since discovering them in a neglected state back in 1999. Local skilled craftsmen were involved in the restoration work. Stone has been reused – if you look closely at the wall around the Coach House, built using the old cobbles, you will see how they have been flattened from the wear of a horse and cart. Items you find inside have, wherever possible, been bought locally. A rainwater harvesting tank collects water from the roof for the toilets. Wood from the owners’ woodland is used for the woodburner. You are encouraged to use the recycle bin for paper, cans, plastic and card.

Smoking and pets

Non smoking and no pets please.
